Samson Marine Surveying (SMS) is led by Captain Don Samson, a retired Master Marine Mechanic with over five decades of experience in the marine industry. His career has spanned every facet of vessel care — from precision mechanical work to full-scale yacht maintenance — on everything from outboard tenders and center consoles to sportfishing yachts, trawlers, and motor yachts up to 80 feet.

Captain Don’s extensive background includes certifications from leading marine engine manufacturers, along with deep technical knowledge of systems from legacy brands that shaped modern marine engineering. After successfully operating a respected repair facility in St. Augustine, Florida, he shifted his focus from repairing vessels to inspecting them, offering clients the benefit of his lifetime of expertise and a discerning eye for detail.
